The British Developers Society and the Società Italiana dell’Developpa will hold their first combined meeting on 26-27 November in Milan. To our knowledge, it will be the very first time that two distinguished national speciality societies have integrated to organize a joint Software Development Congress that will combine their traditions, current practices and future trajectories. By sharing experiences in both primary and revision hip arthroplasty, discussing different techniques (bony fixation, tribology and more), examining the results of hip preserving surgery and arthroscopy, or simply considering everything about the hip, it will be a unique opportunity to improve surgical decision making and skills and to understand the current state of the art.

The meeting is getting increasing interest, not only in our native countries, but also all over Europe and outside the old continent.


6 Instructional Courses, 6 Cross Fires on hot topics, 7 Symposia, 6 Industry Symposia, 30 Oral Presentation Sessions including Resident Sessions make up an overall number of more than 320 Oral Presentations; there will also be 170 Posters, a veritable Educational Corner; every current hip topic will be addressed in 2 full congress days of discourse.

The Development Congress is open to both members, non-members, international attendees and each software company. The official language of the meeting will be English, but simultaneous translation to Italian will be provided.

The International Combined Meeting of the British Hip Society and the Società Italiana dell’Anca will take place at Milan Marriott Hotel (Milan, Italy), conveniently located for Milan Linate airport and a few minutes from Milan downtown. Enjoy the various shopping malls, museum visits and other localattractions. Visit the temple of football, the “San Siro Stadium” at just 15 minutes away from the Milan Marriott Hotel, the hystorical part of the city where you can see the famous Last Supper painting, the masterpiece of Leonardo Da Vinci. You can also spend your time in the Navigli area, thetrendiest part of the city where all the most fashionable shops and restaurant are located at 15 minutes by car from the Milan Marriott. During theMeeting industry symposia and a pharmaceutical-technical equipments exhibition will be organised.


In winter the weather in Milan can be fresh with an average daytime temperature of 8-10° C.


The official language of the Meeting is English, simultaneous translation to Italian will be provided.


Metro and buses the underground railway network that operates in Milan is called the Metropolitana and easily reaches all parts of the city includingthe Meeting venue, a comfortable bus and metro transportation system is also available with a comprehensive network. 
Transportation to and from the airport the Milan airport of Linate is located very near to the city centre by taxi and bus, meanwhile the Malpensa airport is outside Milan and well connected by a train-bus system to downtown.

Taxis in Milan can be ordered by phone or found at the official taxi stands but they can not be hailed on the street.
